Guess this is a good thread to ask in...
I see the Dark Tower books all the time at work, and I must say I've been intrigued. I'm going to start reading them, but I was wondering if it would be helpful to read other King books first. I seem to remember someone saying that the DT ones had characters and things from other books in them.
So, any truth to that, and would it really matter in the overall enjoyment of the series?

GlassSpider: it wouldnt hurt - but it would not be required reading. He started mixing characters from other books somewhere around Cujo.
